The book had very important messages to share and the characters are instantly lovable. The book connects well with other books I’m sharing with my classes, such as Inside Out & Back Again, Other Words for Home, and Ban This Book. The book was just slow at first and predictable, but maybe because as an adult, I knew better. Overall, I got goosebumps near the end of the book and thought it had great messages to share about standing up for oneself, the realtors of being an immigrant, etc.
