I found this book gloomy, boring and sad. I can appreciate the prose of this book and think that its well done but it is definitely not a plot driven book.
I would say that people should go into this book thinking its more a lit-fic book rather than high fantasy as honestly the high fantasy elements are lazily done when using so much from UK where i just thought the characters were in the UK the whole time. I also want to preface this with saying that this book contains SA and throughout the whole story it is one of the main themes.
From the very beginning we are very easily able to grasp the questions in which our characters are trying to figure outaka the fact that angharad wrote the book and that the fairy king is trying to take over iantos body
I also found that some wording the author uses just completely took me out of the book and world with some examples being 1. Using the word twat 2. Eating sausage rolls and putting cream in coffee 3. Using a french saying such as tour de force.
