Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas

5.0

I'm currently on book 4/7 and can confidently say that this is the best book of the series so far.

•Celeana being a badass assassin? ...Check
•Romance? ...CHECK
•Plot? ...Check

Even though I guessed the big plot reveal at the end of the book about 20% through it still had an emotional impact. Lucky for me I had heir of fire sitting next to me because I don't know what I would have done if I would've had to wait to see what happened next.

Okay now onto spoiler parts.

1.Chaol's relationship with Celeana broke me. I originally was mad that she wasn't gonna end up with Dorian because I love commoner&prince romances. But this book convinced me, and right when I was starting to love them as a couple it was torn away from me. When Celeana almost kills him is who I started tearing up and continued to throughout this novel.

2.DORIAN HAS MAGIC. I love it, I love it, I love it.

3. We finally get to see Celeana kill a bunch of people and I love it. When she rescued Choal...one of the best parts of this book.

4. The first time Aelin was mentioned I knew it was gonna be Celeana, but when it was revealed at the end of the book I still felt emotionally impacted. I didn't feel like I'd been robbed by guessing it, it still felt like I had learned something.

THIS WHOLE BOOK WAS A MASTERPIECE. FIN.
