A Treacherous Tale by Elizabeth Penney

5.0

This is a really good addition to the series, if a bit darker than the first book. I'd like to be friends with most of the characters [the nice ones which is why I say 'most'] and I would love to visit this bookshop.
Molly is settling in, she's getting reasonably comfortable with being the girlfriend of the most eligible bachelor in Cambridge per the tabloids, and she loves the bookshop and al that it entails. She's become known for her investigative skills and she knows she's good at it. It's like research and she's always liked that aspect the most of being a librarian.
The darker part is the disappearance of a woman and the suspicious death of a local businessman. There's archeology and a well-loved children's book at the center of the story.
I like that the reader is privy to Molly's inner thoughts, especially her bits of self-doubt.
I like this series and really look forward to book #3, Fatal Folio. It's already pre-ordered and will be here 24 Oct.
I can definitely recommend this book, series and author.
