The Promised Neverland, Vol. 6 by Kaiu Shirai, Posuka Demizu

5.0

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, ohymygosh!!! This was so much fun to read, everything was just FUCKING GREAT! From Mujika and Sonju's introduction, to the worldbuilding, to the character interactions, it was all so FUCKING GREAT!

On a more serious note, something that stood out to me upon reread was the inclusion of religion in the demons' life. While I'm not saying this is revolutionary, in fact it would be weird if the demons didn't have some form of organized religion, but what I find fascinating is how it's being used with Sonju. Sonju stopped eating humans because of his religion, but he wants to eat them so he's helping Emma and the gang fix the world so he can JUSTIFY eating them thanks to his religion. It's odd that the creators would choose to create a character motivation like Sonju's (rather than him simply wanting to enjoy the hunt) but it adds a new layer of understanding to demons and works towards worldbuilding. A subtle yet thought-provoking inclusion that I thoroughly enjoyed.

That's all I want to say (aside from obnoxiously fangirling) about this volume. This is such a great series and I am having so much fun rereading it!
