I'm quit fond of Pride and Prejudice spinoffs and was particularly interested in this book as it was about Mary. Mary, sweet overlooked and under appreciated Mary. In both literary and cinematic versions of P&P, I alway felt for Mary, and in a way felt I related to her quite a bit. I was always saddened that her story wasn't really developed in the original Austen tale. This several-hundred page novel about her perspective and story was able to fill gaps and heal old wounds.
The author cleverly supplants some Austen quotes and direct references within, which added to the joy.
If ever Hadlow released similar literature, I am happy to say I'd gobble it right up.
