This was my first Valerie Pepper book and it did not disappoint! This is the second book in the series and while I didn’t read the first, it works as a standalone. This one follows Jodi, the owner of a coffee shop and Price, the hot firefighter who’s been her lifelong crush.
This was a super cute, quick read. I understood where Jodi was coming from with her habit of just keeping the peace and not letting her feelings be known. I knew an explosion was going to happen at some point and poor Price was there for it. I’m glad it didn’t scare him off and they worked through it like adults. And yay for no third act breakup!
