“Success required sacrifice. Sacrifice meant pain. Pain meant success.”

I just knew I was going to love this book but wow, I do not know if I should take a break or keep reading the next book but deep down I know I won't be able to drop them, the story has me by the throat. I love my Rin and I will support any atrocities she commits (stay tuned, I might change my mind) I need to see Nezha right fucking now and the next book begins with his pov apparently (from the past tho) I hated him for a while but so did I hate Cardan Greenbriar (can y'all believe that bullshit?) love him now tho. I do not trust half of the characters bc I have trust issues ever since I read shadow and bone and even after they die I still mistrust some characters but the two I mentioned I do like.

Here are some quotes I liked (they could've been more but I was very focus on the plot):

“How did you explain to a child the idea of gravity, until they knew what it meant to fall?”

“Children ceased to be children when you put a sword in their hands. When you taught them to fight a war, then you armed them and put them on the front lines, they were not children anymore. They were soldiers.”

“He was so beautiful then, standing right in the space of the road where a beam of moonlight fell across his face, illuminating one side and casting long shadows on the other.
He looked like glazed porcelain, preserved glass. He was a sculptor’s approximation of a person, not human himself. He can’t be real, she thought. A boy made of flesh and bone could not be so painfully lovely, so free of any blemish or flaw.”

I was listening to Monsters by Ruelle & Glory And Gore by Lorde
