This short book contains three short stories, one of which describes how Cadfael comes to the Abbey at Shrewsbury in the first place, and two others which are fairly standard mysteries. It was quite entertaining.

I took this book with me to jury duty because it was the physically smallest one I had at home that I hadn't read yet, and I could shove it in my purse. I didn't get placed on a jury, but I finished the whole book during the waiting times.
