i blatantly spoil so much. please don’t read if you don’t want the spoilers!!!

this was a ride from start to finish. i start out with no inkling of what the rating will be, and then soon start to feel one way or the other. that’s just how i read. this i was feeling 3 stars for, because sure it was doing what it was meant to do. it was absolutely the craziest smut i’ve ever read. it had my boyfriend blushing. however, the amount of sex they were having was unrealistic and it felt like the storyline kinda took the hit for the smut scenes to take center stage. so i was thinking about 3.0 for that. then really cute sweet things would happen. two best friends finding love for one other, the vulnerability of that, the openness of Ilmari when it comes to not only Rachel and her relationship but with Caleb and Jake in their own relationship AND within his own relationship with the 3 of them. how it evolved i love all of these characters. sooooo i was thinking 3.5-3.75. then the sex slows down and they’re focused on the game, the play-by-play scenes on the rink emerge and the possibility of playing in the olympics, etc. and i realize how little i care about hockey. i was learning back towards 3.0 stars but then rachel gets suspended, the boys all fight to get her her job back, the grand gesture of it all? loved it. the caring of it all. loved it. but really, the final display of acts of service come from ALL three of them, working together for their relationship with rachel and as a true TEAM. that really sealed the deal. then the ending was cute, the little details about them buying a double king bed? so cute. i think i’m landing on 4 stars. for now.
