When a girl from the servant class, Miuko, is cursed, she must go on a journey to undo it and avoid becoming a demon. Consistently thwarted by a Prince possessed by a revenge spirit with his sights on her, Miuko and her ragtag group of friends - human girls, a magpie spirit, a feral god, a smoke cat, and a particularly intelligent horse to name a few - must bargain with gods, escape demon hunters, convince priests to help, and avoid killing anyone at all costs so she can keep everyone safe and return home to her normal life.

This book has a little bit of everything. Feminism, a little hint of romance, action, a hilarious comedic relief character, nefarious powers, and a strong, but clumsy main character. The whole cast is great, the writing is fantastic, and the world is so interesting that I absolutely fell in love.
