The Creakers by Tom Fletcher

5.0

OhMyGoodness! I love this book sooo much. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator is absolutely perfect.

I have seen many reviews that say things like 'this book isn't good. All of the high reviews come from the McFly fans'. Well, let me tell you that I just had to Google what McFly was, so these statements are completely invalid.

I really, really surprised by this story and it has become one of my favourites of the year.

The plot of this story was so unique and interesting that it instantly had me hooked. It follows Lucy who is trying to get the grown-ups back after they have gone missing. The plot reminds me a lot of the TV show The Sparticle Mysteries, which made me feel really nostalgic the entire time that I was reading it.

I loved how the characters developed and grew throughout the story and I also love how each character is so different.
I love the character of Lucy. I feel that she is a really complex character and I love the way that she reacts with the narrator of the story. I found this so interesting and sweet. I also really like the way that Lucy handles the situation.

I also think that Ella is such an interesting character. I feel that her development is the strongest and you get to see how she stays true to herself, but also matures a bit. I love some of her one liners that she has - they are so funny! They literally made me laugh at times.

I really also love the characters of Guff, Grunt, Scratch and Sniff. I love how they are all so different. I also especially love Sniff. He was so cute. I also love finding out more about thee Woleb and the Creakers' back story.

However, my favourite character was Norman. I feel like he's going to be really inspirational to the kids who read this book because he does the things that he likes regardless of what other people think of him and the fact that it's not cool. I also kind of relate to him a lot. Also that bit at the end... when he's on about the friendship patch... MY HEART MELTED! I just think that Norman is just a sweet bean!

But, my favourite part of this book was definitely the writing! I love Tom Fletcher's style of writing and the way that he describes things. The writing was really easy to follow and create imagery.

I am so excited to read more books by Tom Fletcher and I am shook that it took me so long to discover his books.

Would I recommend this book? Absolutely! This book is so fun - for people young and old alike!
