If you liked Wings of Fate you will love this book!! With our characters and setting already established, this book is all of the best forbidden love, strong heroine, magical goodness that we read for.
Kieran has broken his vows and left Thea to fend for herself in her new life as a princess.
The Goddess of death has escaped prison, the Goddess that society reveres is missing, and meanwhile Thea's council is more concerned with her looking like a queen than being one.
When Thea's high council asks her to consider doing something that goes against her beliefs in order to finally take her rightful place as queen she's pissed, but when she discovers it'll bring her closer to her soulmate after 6 months with no contact she decides to play along.
This decision will bring her to new friends (great characters) and dangerously close to a fate she doesn't want. But it will also bring her closer to the love of her life.
Along the way she'll find out she's been lied to, they've all been lied to, and who to trust is not at all clear. Fate's plans for her are more twisted than she knew and dangerous options are the only choices she has.
Skye takes this story from the first book into a direction I totally didn't expect and I really love. Thea and Kieran's characters have blossomed wonderfully in this continuation of their story and the plot has thickened excitingly.
I already can't wait for book three!!!
