To Tell You the Truth by Gilly Macmillan

3.0

I'm far from being a professional book reviewer and I rate almost exclusively based on how well the book kept my attention, and how surprised I was by any plot twists.
This book held my attention throughout it's entirety based partly on story within the story, but the final reveal and ending were disappointing.
When you glance at the table of contents, you see that most chapters are numbered normally as you'd expect, but there are also chapters numbered by Roman numerals. The Roman numeral-ed chapters are essentially a story within the story, and the anticipation of getting to the next Roman numeral-ed chapter kept my interest throughout the book.
However, it felt obvious to me fairly early into the book how the Roman numeral-ed chapters fit in with the main storyline. And as previously mentioned, the ending wasn't my favorite.
