The Last Time I Lied follows Emma Davis who was the last person to see three girls alive in their cabin at Camp Nightingale before they disappeared. When Emma is asked to come back to the camp, she see's it as an opportunity to try to find out what happened all those years ago. However, unravelling the past might become more dangeorus for the campers and Emma more than she realizes.
I really like Riley Sager's books. I find his stories really interesting and I like how the premises are familiar while also different. I picked this one up because it reminded me of a horror or thriller movie you would watch.
I really like Riley Sager's writing because I feel like it flows really well and is very easy to get into. I always fly through his books when I read them because they are so well written. I really like his storytelling as he always keeps the plot moving in a way that keeps you wanting to know more. I though this plot did that really well. I really didn't see the ending coming on this one and it made me want to re-read this at some point to see if I could pick up the clues in it.
I thought that Emma as a character was really interesting because she clearly had been through a lot and was dealing with a lot of stress being back at this camp. I thought she had her moments that weren't the smartest moves but I still found her intriguing to read from her POV.
Overall, I thought this was a really interesting thriller and one that I really enjoyed. It wasn't my favorite Riley Sager book but was a solid thriller and I would recommend picking it up if the premise interests you.
