This is certainly engaging. It was pretty depressing -- the "dark" in the title really should have clued me in, but this really is not a book where [spoiler alert] characters necessarily experience much redemption, if any. The end also felt hurried. It was, though, a book that left me thinking about it quite a bit -- always the sign of a good book.
