Tamsyn Muir manages to pack the same amount of horror, unsettling gore, and mystery into a 58 page book that she did with the Locked Tomb series. She’s a fantastic writer and the style she structures her stories with lends well to the short format. There was just enough dialogue and character interaction to keep the plot going but much of the story was just pure confusion and intrigue. It hits just right compared to other short stories that feel more like a snippet of a larger book.
