Twas a good book- I really liked April’s goal to eliminate the separation between her work and private life, it was very freeing to read. The dialogues surrounding being plus sized were an important part of the story, though I wish the author had delved a little deeper into how parents tied into that. It would also have been nice to see Marcus (and April again a bit) go to therapy. While I understand how Marcus had a rough childhood, expecting your parents to wholly understand you as a person when you’ve been playing a character in front of them and haven’t told them about your dyslexia for decades is like a little ridiculous 😭… Overall, April was my fave in this story and Marcus kinda got on my nerves. Like not telling her for months is crazy 😭😭😭 Idk how she got over that so quickly because he didn’t really do anything to her personally to make it up (he did self improvements, but nothing in regards to their relationship)? This would have been a four star but the
ending role play where she’s a little girl (Red Riding Hood) and he’s the wolf was weird???
The fanfic snippets at the end of each chapter could be funny, but sometimes, especially towards the end of the story, they more often than not felt like they interrupted the main plot that was going on. I’m so sorry Mikayla 😭 I did like this book, but some things in it irritated me too 😭😭😭
