Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo

I have a lot of thoughts about this one I fear not one of them particularly coherent! The way discourse within it is approached dates this book so so strongly which makes it a very interesting reading experience in 2024 and I'm sure that would be the case even more so if I read it years after. The real life and online landscape of everything has shifted so much in recent years it feels weird to read something so Of a Time. She approaches her audience with the desire to create bridges of understanding but the political shifts of the past 5 years take this stance from idealistic and noble to something else I can't quite place! Still, I really enjoyed it.
