Bookish and the Beast
by Ashley Poston
remember the iconic 2010 disney channel movie called starstruck ??? well this book is basically the movie. the only difference is that instead of having iconic pop star christopher wilde we have hollywoods famous vance reigns and instead of midwestern girl, jessica olson, visiting her grandparents we have rosie thorn, small town girl, who is obsessed with the tv show that vance reigns stars in.
listen did i enjoy this book ??? that's questionable. it felt like something that would've been written on wattpad back in 2010-2013. not saying that's a bad thing but it felt very cringy which sucks because the only reason why i bought this book was because the author is ashley poston. yes. the same ashley poston that wrote the dead romantics (which i absolutely loved btw.) to be fair she wrote this book before the dead romantics so that goes to show that writing can get better !!!
anyways vance and rosie are in high school. she's obsessed with books and he's a hollywood actor. y'all can picture the rest. i will say that if you DO like pop culture references in books, this is the one for you. sooooooooo many pop culture references are used in the book and i rolled my eyes every time i read one.
this was a very easy read. i don't really have anything else to say about it. the only good thing that came out of reading this book was the fact that it helped me remember about starstruck.
