X-Men vs. Apocalypse: The Twelve Omnibus by

5.0

Probably my least favorite X-Men Omnibus in terms of the material, but one of my favorites to have available in an omnibus format at all. The Wolverine issues in particular are solid and show a great on-page representation of the character. Same with the Liefeld-plotted Cable issues. The Uncanny X-Men and adjectiveless X-Men issues may be my least favorite material from across the decades. The scripting is so thick and written for a third-grade reading level. There was no need for art, and the result was some of the least compelling storytelling in the X-Men franchise period. The Death character did a lot of work to keep the story fun for the first third. By the time The Twelve and Apocalypse even came into the story, it was too far gone. What a disappointing wash. But hey, at least it's collected.
