The Girl Who Lived Twice by David Lagercrantz

dark mysterious tense slow-paced
  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Strong character development? Yes
  • Loveable characters? Yes
  • Diverse cast of characters? Yes
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

2.5

Coming from the 5th book (which was a pretty good read, in my opinion), I thought that the 6th one deserved a read despite the negative reviews.
Here are my thoughts on this one:

  • The book is relatively slow and may be a bit boring at times due to extensive descriptions that might not be of interest.
  • The plot is easy to follow, but it takes a LONG time to develop.
  • The ending was a bit of a disappointment.

Overall, if you’re a dedicated fan of the Millennium series and want to see Lisbeth Salander’s journey continue, The Girl Who Lived Twice is worth a read, but don't expect it to blow your mind. It’s a solid, though flawed, continuation of the story that feels too slow compared to the other books. If you don’t really care about Lisbeth’s or Mikael’s journey, then you can skip the book entirely.
