(Really jumping in to those half-star ratings in 2021...)
To say I enjoyed this book feels strange because of its theme. It's a good book. It's got a lot to say and it says it very succinctly... maybe too succinctly. I wish it were slightly longer: I wanted to get to know the main characters more deeply and I felt like time jumped forward too fast in Part 2. The writing is very matter-of-fact, even when its describing the POV character's strong emotions. More "in between the action" moments wouldn't have gone amiss in my opinion.I felt that the inclusion of the Wendigo added a lot to the story, but I didn't catch on to it until I was told in the acknowledgements.
