This is the first book of The Expanse series that I have REALLY, REALLY enjoyed. I mean, I enjoyed the rest, but this one just stood out for me. Everything came together, in my opinion, to result in a novel that was intriguing and exciting, with character development (ok, most of it inevitable after a thirty year gap) and hints of the beginning of the end. 

I've had a structure to my reading for the past year and a half - new novel, re-read, coffee table book, new novel... - and this is the first time I've felt like breaking it and going straight into the next volume.
