Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde

(Reread)
The basic premise revolves around how people can only naturally see one color, what that color is determines their status in life. The government has their hands in everything and, thanks to their pro-tattling schemes, no one can be trusted. Still, there’s a faction of people who both want to know more about The Thing That Happened and change how things are run now.

This is a book where you just kind of *have* to go with the flow. In the beginning, little makes sense, but as you continue more is revealed about how their world works (or doesn’t)
It is a weird one, but my exact brand of weird so I enjoyed it and am SO HAPPY the sequel is finally here so I can move on to the next book and (hopefully) get more answers.
