challenging dark emotional sad medium-paced

this book has affected my life in more than one way. first, I cannot stop telling everyone who will listen the tragic story of the radium girls. second, I've had a noticeable more amount of rage and bitterness in my body than normal (normal leves = ~0). to read about the corporate greed, gaslighting, sexism and misogyny, and murderous capitalism that has been a part of American history since America was colonized - it put me in a bad mood, to say the least. I've been arguing with people online again, something I haven't done since college, and feel vastly more vengeful at all big corporations and healthcare companies.

however, WOW. incredibly well-researched and thorough, empathetic towards the Radium Girls' and their horrendous experience, addressing the media mistreatment, medical and corporate gaslighting, and all the absolute horrors the women went through: every gorey, depressing detail and story was shared.

I also, and people will hate me for this, do see a relationship between Radium and GLP1s currently on the market. both with little research into their negatives, both being mass-marketed as a wonder drug that will immediately fix people's life, both a symbol of the elite and wealthy status... just food for thought.
