The writing and story were both enjoyable, with a heist to be stopped and a mystery to he solved at its heart that were both very exciting to watch connect. However much of the characterizations felt very gimmicky. And positioning female characters as damsels and love interests gets problematic when it's all of them. I did love Marasi as a character overall. But it felt reductive to her character to have her immediately need rescuing and also falling in love with a man who is stated to be twice her age.
And while the proglogue was certainly a powerful hook, you can't fridge the first woman we meet and then follow that up with more fragile women and rough and tumble men.
