The Green Road by Anne Enright

3.0

This book suffered from great expectations. I'd read/hear so many positive reviews and was very excited to get my hands on it. It did not manage to live up to the hype. It is a good book and reads well. In Part 1 covers a span of about 20 years with each child and the mother have their own chapter. Part 2 everyone comes together. It was interesting to watch as the characters easily slide back into the childhood persona roles and the struggle they felt as they tried not to. The story just seems to stop after bringing forth another layer, which is frustrating but fits the book perfectly.
