I did sit down with this one in the bookshop and did read the first chapter. I like it. I bought it.
I guess this is where the nice things end.
The protagonist is so unbelievable naive. It is infuriating.
There has been sex scenes in this book. Two of which I remember: (maybe mild spoilers) They where not intimate, charming or whatsoever. It was just (close to non-consensual) sex scenes. The second time at a "timing" which made me consider to just dnf the book at this moment. I someone made it trough it...
Several years later I am very pleased to know, that there are a lot of authors being able to write nice/lovely/realisitic intimate scenes. This one is not one of them.
At least I got a first edition -fancy coloured edge- edition, which I was able to sell again.
The best thing about this book is the outside design, which sadly does not reflecte anywhere on the inside.
