I liked this one better than the second book, and I liked that Amelia wasn't forced into a more maternal role - she still stands on her own as a strong female character who makes motherhood her own. I enjoyed the dynamic between her and Emerson evolving as Ramses came along on this trip, however still felt the pacing was ever so off in this one compared to the first.
