When you get a bunch of High School students rating an English set text it really does screw up the ratings!
There is so much that is remarkable about 'Swallow the Air'. The writing. The imagery. The evocation of feelings of loss and love and happiness. The importance of belonging, of place, of history. Even the co-mingling of reality and dreaming is used to great effect.
