It takes a while to get going, but I was thoroughly invested at the 55% mark.
I don’t know if it’s valid to complain about an epic fantasy book having too many imaginary concepts and terms, but there were ultimately a lot of things like that, so I kind of kept reading until they eventually clicked. If you’re someone that doesn’t like that kind of worldbuilding, it will be a rough time.
The worldbuilding definitely pays off by the end, and I would overall recommend the book. The characters and arcs are lovable and the magic system is bathed in mystery.
