First Lie Wins was not at all what I was expecting and I love that! I went in to this book with an open mind, unsure of the direction it would take, and I can honestly say that I enjoyed the ride in its entirety. The relationship between the main characters and the minor characters and the backstory behind who Evie is and how she got where she ended up was very well done. The concept of “first lie wins” was such a unique take, in my opinion, and I love how the theme was played out throughout the whole story. I was a little curious as to how it was going to end when everything started to unfold in the final few chapters, and I was pleasantly surprised with the way everything was tied up all nice and neat.
