Thank you to Hachette Audio for my #gifted copy.  My thoughts are my own.

Holly needs to win the big fundraising competition at work, because winning means getting a fantastic promotion from intern to a full-time job in Scotland--thousands of miles away from the big scandal that's following her around in Seattle.  And from her toxic ex-boyfriend who caused it all.  The last thing she wanted, though was to have to team up with the anti-social office grouch.  But things get complicated really fast with a few too many drinks and now she's scrambling to compete with the other interns who are ten years younger and have twice her energy.  The stakes are too high.  So she definitely can't take the time to explore that *something* that is growing between her and Jonathan...can she?

Yay for high achievers!  I can relate to Holly and burning out.  And I really like Jonathan and how he and Holly get to know each other so slowly.  This was a great slow burn romance with an achievable level of flirt (and humor) I wish I could unlock.  And apparently I've been under a rock and missing out on the fabulous Lauren Ezzo!  She makes the story come alive with a different voice for each character and gives serious Julia Whalen vibes.  The audio production is crisp and the timing perfect.  Bravo, team!  A perfect summer read.
