A Commonplace by Jonathan Davidson

emotional reflective slow-paced

3.0

What I fear is not the passing
Of time but how still I find myself
At this point in my life, as if
I know there is nothing I can do.

I wasn't the right reader for this collection. I liked the concept, and I even enjoyed most of the content, but I couldn't fully connect with the poetry. There were definitely times where Davidson's commentary illuminated and enhanced the poems, but it was difficult for me to transition from his breezy and funny tone right into reading poetry.
