The Places I've Cried in Public
by Holly Bourne
3.5/5
It’s hard to formulate into words what I think of this book. It is raw and gut wrenching and could be really triggering. But it also covers some important and beautiful messages. I enjoyed it but also this is a hard hitting book, so go in prepared and be aware of the trigger warnings! The switching between the past and now paints a harrowing picture of an emotionally abusive relationship from the beginning. Holly has flawlessly shown the path of realisation to the path of healing from an abusive ex which I commend. I’d recommend this book for the showcase of poor relationships and it was a quick read.
