I initially rated this book four stars when I read it many years ago. Now I have to rate it lower than Assassin’s Blade and Throne of Glass because I found it much less gripping. Maybe it’s series fatigue, but it took me much longer to get through this one. I just had such strong sequel energy I was feeling tired. But overall, strong world-building from Maas and I am looking forward to seeing where the series goes from here.
Graphic: Body horror, Death, Gore, Violence, Blood, Grief, Murder, Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Child abuse, Physical abuse, Sexual content, Slavery, Medical content, Trafficking, Kidnapping, Death of parent, Fire/Fire injury, Colonisation, War
