I unfortunately had to DNF this book. I absolutely love dark fantasy/dark romance and have no triggers. I love fae and all things fantasy. It was the pacing of the story that really did it for me. I felt that everything was rushed and I wanted to know more about who our main characters were before diving into the story. Valroy was just like hey I want you, I’m taking you and it didn’t feel natural.
I couldn’t connect with Abigail or Valroy and found them both to be immature. Valroy I thought would be more direct and mature for how old he is, but instead he came across as a f boy.
While I didn’t personally enjoy it, others might. If you like something fast paced that gets straight to the point, then I think this is for you. Something was just missing in the first 100 pages for me though and I couldn’t keep going. I like the idea of the story so if the author writes a new series in the future I would be willing to give it a try.
