Lock the Doors by Vincent Ralph
3.5
There was one thing in particular that knocked this book from 4 stars to 3.5: the opening line. My first thought when opening and reading the first line is “damn this book is so corny.” I literally said it aloud on the phone with my boyfriend.
“Home is where the hate is” is probably the reason this book has been dormant on my bookshelf for well over a year, but I’ll be honest when I say I have no idea why It’s taken me so long to read it.
While cringe at times, I have to admit that this book was a page turner. This sucker panders to those with ADHD and short attention spans. The chapters were extremely short, like chapter 50 was 1/3 of the way through the book. Noted while reading: “Also since I’m currently 1/3 into it, I can speak on the content so far. Im super intrigued and lowkey wanna skip to the end because thats a bad habit I have with suspenseful books. There have been parts that don’t make sense but I gotta say I am on the edge of my seat.”
i guessed the ending pretty early on, but there WERE parts that made me question whether that would be the truth or not. Overall, I would recommend for a quick, easy, suspenseful read.book.
