The Hidden City by Michelle West
4.0

This book inspired me to read several thousand more pages in quick succession, so I'm going to say I liked it.

I was already a fan of Michelle Sagara/West but found some of the books a bit heavy. And they are but I've still been on a kick lately. I really want to know what happens to these characters and what happens next, so I'm going to keep this short.

Big fat epic fantasy - a waif steals a bag in a magic filled city with hidden secrets and a complex social structure. And it seems like that waif might influence the fate of the world. A little dark, a little sad, and very complicated with strong characters and strong world building.
