Welcome back, Sarah J. Maas. I've missed your brilliant, masterful mind.

Upon rereading the first book, I knew this series had potential to be as great as Throne of Glass; if only Maas pulled her shit together. And oh boy, she did! I guess it's official now, that the 2nd book in any of her series is always better. If you really think about it, that's been the case with the previous two.

This book! Ugh, it was so good on so many levels. It was so well paced; I didn't get bored for even a second. It had this big spiderweb-like plot, that kept on weaving itself through and through, unraveling secrets, knitting the world together towards ... well, a very explosive ending. Brace yourself, for that! I enjoyed every second of reading this. I loved the whole cast of characters and how they intertwined; nobody can write a harmonious cast like Maas can. You just fall for them and want in their group in any way possible. The plot beat my theories and expectations in every way, all my predictions kept flying off the roof and I enjoyed being wrong. The mystery element in here was just so well crafted.

I'm reeling, hyperventilating and so damn joyful that I decided to give this series a second chance. Oh and I have SO many theories for where this is going ... but I'll hold 'em in.
