Soul Code by Blake Black
5.0
Not often a book leaves me struggling to find words to describe. Soul Code is the book you never thought you would love, and did, with characters that, for me, had traits I could relate to, and a completely different premise for a book, that has left me speechless.
Amelia is our FMC, and works for Elysium. Amelia does a job well below what she is actually qualified for, but hides behind her glasses, her quiet personality, and a childhood she tries to escape. She effectively tries not to be seen, but our 3 MMC's see her.
Oliver, Grey and Misha are the developers of "Jamie", an interactive AI who Amelia finds herself beta testing. It syncs with her Smart Home Service and its aim is to provide that "personal" element, and not just functionally. Amelia feels a connections to "Jamie", although is unaware the depths of our MMC's involvement in 'Jamie". Oliver is alot like Amelia, and he has loved her since he first saw her over two years ago. However, Misha and Grey find themselves catching feelings, tapping into different sides of Amelia's personality, and finding that they all need her, as much as she needs them. But, Amelia herself, finds, that she wants and desires them all and struggles with this attraction.
This is Book 1, and after one hell of a cliffhanger, I need Mind Code desperately as there is a discovery that threatens this relationship which was just finding its wings. It is a MFMM relationship, with a slow burn, and some very heavy topics discussed, so please read those before diving in to this. Also, give this book a chance, and not think that the basis of this book is out of the realm of possibility, as this book has been my biggest surprise read this year, that I loved. It is my first Blake Black book, and it won't be my last.
