Stanton Adore
by T.L. Swan
I've never had such a problem with reading a book but this one really was painful. I've been a fan of T.L. Swan's books and I think she has a great writing style. However, this book is completely different from the other books that I've read and I'm assuming it's because it's her first published book. I had to take a break after Chapter 14, I think, and that was about 50% because both of these characters were just so annoying.
I've never read a couple that I just knew would never work and I honestly don't think that I will be continuing this series since I didn't really care for the characters. Natasha really revolved her life around Josh and I can usually look over that but this one was just giving me a headache. Everytime that they would get into a fight, it was honestly over the smallest stupidest shit ever and I swear they would fight in every fucking chapter. That's not even the worst but they're fucking cousins, not really, but they don't know that. I know that's supposed to make us feel better but throughout the book they think they're cousins and continue with their relationship. I was just uhhhhh the whole time since I didn't understand why the author had to do that.
Overall, this book reminds me of when I would read After by Anna Todd. It was just constant fighting and not in the cute way where it would feel like angst or tension. It would literally be the most annoying shit ever and it was just annoying how Natasha would get mad at Josh over his past. It would be so dumb too because he moved on with his life and Natasha stayed the same after they stopped seeing each other after SHE broke up with him. It's like, Ma'am you broke his heart and are mad at him for how he moved on??? Even if he has a lot of sex with women, YOU BROKE UP WITH HIM! I'm just done with both of them.
If you enjoyed this, I'm so happy for you but this truly wasn't for me.
