When Ridley was young her world was turned upside down not just when her mother died but when magic was outlawed in the world. Which would be no problem except that Ridley has magic living within her and it is not something that she can make just go away. She's been hiding it easily from former friends and using her magic to "recover" items that may be a little harder to get normally. But when she takes something a little more sensitive that ends up in some very wrong hands, Ridley must work closely with former friend Archer through the magical underground to track down the missing artifact. She has a hard time knowing who to trust and even though Archer seems to be on her side he's hiding a little too much information to really be on her side. Can Ridley find the right answers before people get hurt or will her magic be exposed? Really great start to the series, excited to continue to see where Ridley is adventuring to next!
