Daisy Jones and the Six is an enthralling read for those wishing to mix up their everyday reads with a different narrative style. While the story is entertaining, it's the alternative writing style that stands out most, because it paves a way for readers to understand the unreliable narrator device. By having multiple characters retell their version of events, readers are forced into a position where they're have to determine which character's recollection of events is more accurate and trustworthy. I found my decision was based on earlier events in the book based on the flaws each character had already presented, and often believed Karen's version of events over the others', or Daisy's over Billy's if she sounded certain and clear-headed at the time (because Billy was too stubborn to admit others were right).
In addition to this, most of the characters are extremely unlikeable. In fact, they're assholes. Billy's up himself. Daisy's a spoilt brat. Eddie is angry all. The. Time. But you're still able to love them regardless, because they're telling the story of their younger selves 30-40 years later, and have grown so much over that time that they're able to admit they made mistakes. Quite frankly, Camila is the only likeable character in this book.
