- I hated the part of the book where we were reading about her life in London. She just sounded like she was always complaining like she got to live in a pretty central part of london with only 1 roommate and work a job where she doesnt even need to switch on her brain and still gets paid im guessing quite a lot of money. She also went to the 3rd best school in the country so im just very confused about how her life is apparently meant to be this bad when i think she could quite easily turn it around.
However that might of been deliberate as Iris then realises that her life in London wasnt actually that bad and that there are loads of things she takes for granted. So i can kinda see why her life was written like that but it was just annoying to read.

- Nyx only starts becoming part of the story about 60% of the way through, which is annoying as the blurb of the book made it seem like life on nyx was gonna be the focus. Once Iris was on Nxy the book actually became interesting and i was flying through it. The characters were a bit flat and you didnt really get to know them but i guess this was due to their fear of speaking badly about Nyx and longing for their life on earth back.

- The main thing that is preventing this book from being rated higher though is the amound of loose ends and unanswered questions it has. This book is the kind of one where you can imagine the ending yourself and fill in the gaps with what you would want the answers to be.
The book would have been so much more interesting if the author did actually pick a direction for the story to go in and then explored what would happen.
Are the characters actually still on Earth?
Is this all part of Iris's imagination?
Did the characters who all disapear die?
Why did the show end on Earth?

The ending absolutely sucked. The whole reason why i read this book was to read about the chaos that happens when it all starts to go wrong. But there was no chaos, people just started to disapear slowly and Iris's life just got more boring.
Also I dont understand why Iris was being visited by a hallucination of her Mum, and why her getting pregnant was a feature of the story. I dont think it added anything apart from giving her a connection to the first guy who disapeared, but even then nothing came about that.

I just think there was so much potential but the book just fell flat because it wanted to leave Nyx mysterious but i think it could have been so much better if the ending was fleshed out.
