The Wife Stalker
by Liv Constantine
This book was so completely and utterly ridiculous. I enjoyed The Last Mrs. Parrish, so I thought I'd read this one. It was so disappointing. None of the characters were well developed. The book felt so rushed. From the time Leo and Piper met to the time they married, it was just telling, telling, telling. I didn't see any showing that these characters loved each other. Every character fell flat for me.
SPOILER
From the beginning, it so far-fetched. Even after the twist is revealed, it doesn't take away from how unbelievable the first 3/4 of the book was. No, it doesn't make any sense for custody to be taken away completely based on something so small. It made Leo look like a horrible father to tell his children the person we believed was the mother was dead. Then the twist, Joanna is not really the childrens mother. This was so out of left field. No foreshadowing or anything, just a book that made every adult involved look like a horrible person. I suppose Stelli's stomachaches that were constantly mentioned were actually a result of the vitamin smoothies? Piper just had everything stacked against her? Was she involved in the sailing accident? Was it an accident? Who knows. Everything just turned so quickly once the twist was revealed it was like a different book.
This book was a train wreck, but I kept reading til the end so it gets two stars.
