Sad girl whose parents just died moves to a remote boarding school to live with her Uncle to find herself in the world of every YA fantasy novel and in love with a vampire she literally just met. (eye-roll)
To be fair, I was looking for a trash vampire romance, and that is entirely what I got. It was fast-paced and entertaining, if not slightly humorous at points. It was a typical YA novel with less depth and all the worst parts of any fantasy romance.
Every trope from Twilight, Legacies, and Vampire Diaries without any of the necessary plot. Not to mention the amount of predictability. It is a Twilight rip-off (which I sort of want to reread now because after this, it is much needed.) But the author tried REALLY hard to make it unique with random storylines… I have so many questions, which I guess is okay with it being a series. Still, there are a lot of things that just do not quite make any sense
This book was not good. Am I on the library waitlist for the second one… yes, yes I am.
