Absolutely extraordinary.  I'm not quite sure what I was expecting when I picked up She Would Be King - the book wasn't quite what I expected, but must have been better than any expectation I went in with.  Spanning three points of view, multiple settings (the United States, Jamaica, Liberia), and addressing many complex and difficult themes, this fantastical, deep, wide-ranging take on Liberia's founding is not to be missed.  I kind of can't believe that this is a debut novel, and cannot wait to read more from Wayétu Moore.
