Trick Mirror: Reflections on Self-Delusion by Jia Tolentino

funny informative reflective fast-paced

Ugh love this. Jia Tolentino's essays are such a joy to read for me (her voice was actually really good too, i could listen to her all day.), and maybe bec im not white and i don't live in the west that i just find some of these stories new and fascinating to read-from some of her monologues abt the internet to American reality tv to campus violence to state marriages and white gowns- i can not look away. I also really enjoyed her introspection about feminism and it's intersection around social media and politics, tho i could agree that some of it felt surface level and doesn't really offer anything new to the table, her writing and the way she delivers her essays makes it great and still informative read, I can't wait to read her future works.
